took my XL for a test ride

I've been tuning my Super E carb today, setting the idle speed, idle mixture and accelerator pump travel. I was very surprised at the acceleration from this "girly" 883. When I open up the throttle at the top of the gears, it really takes off. I love it. I think I might have to change the intermediate jet to a .0265 from the .028 that's in there. I think the .066 main jet will be OK. I borrowed this old helmet mu uncle has from the 60's with custom paint on it, maltese crosses on each side. The lining is pretty much gone...deteriorated. It'll be ok until I buy a new one... I couldn't go too far though, no plates, tags, registration or insurace. Will go get the title transfered on monday...

Cool, glad you finally got something. "Girly" whatever...Sportsters are cool! Make a helluva chop out of a Sporty. Congrats!
