Boss, Rhode Warrior had the same engine as you.

The theory is that the spring should face the pressure.

Meaning in your case, the spring in towards the engine.

They come set up for a wet primary. so from the factory, it's spring out.

I guess they figure it's more important to keep the primary fluid out of the engine.

I've run them both ways without problems.
